Imperial ewer in polychrome enameled wucai porcelain, with a ribbed body resting on a small heel, a slender handle and a long swan-neck spout.
The masterfully executed decoration, in iron red and cobalt blue underglaze, enhanced by green and yellow enamels, features a five-clawed dragon soaring among stylized clouds on the neck, while the body is adorned with flowering and fruited branches of peach and pomegranate trees, symbols of immortality and abundance.
Polychrome Greek frieze on the rim, handle and spout delicately highlighted with blue and red enamels.

This type of ewer, rare and intended for use by the imperial court, finds direct parallels in the Musée Guimet (Paris) and the British Museum (London), illustrating the technical and decorative virtuosity of the Jingdezhen kilns at the end of the XVIᵉ century.
