Lot 328 - Ningura NAPPURULA (1938-2013) - Oil on canvas signed on the back. Aboriginal painter Ningura Nappurula produced her first painting for Papunya Tula Artists in 1996. In 1999, Ningura also contributed to the painting "Kintore women's" for the fundraising project for a dialysis system in the desert. In 2003 Ningura was chosen along with 4 other Papunya artists to have their work featured on Australia International Post stamps. In 2004 Ningura was one of 8 Australian Aboriginal artists selected to participate in the architectural project for the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris. Ningura died in Kintore, in her ancestral desert in November 2013. Collections: Art Gallery of New South Wales, Musée du Quai Branly Museum and Art Galleries of the Northern Territory, National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of South Australia, Artbank, Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander Studies, AIATSIS, architectural project for the Musée du Quai Branly, Musée des Confluences.
