Lot 289 -

An ivory plaque carved in low relief depicting Eve and Adam expelled from paradise, late 17th century. Rectangular in shape, depicting Adam and Eve in a field of flowers not far from the tree of Science, both driven from paradise by the angel Gabriel. Remarkable carving in the detail of the flowers and the anatomy of the bodies. Probably French work from the 18th century, similar to the carved ivories from Dieppe.
