With this exceptional sale, Goldfield Auction honors one of the most striking visual expressions of the 20th century: the May 68 poster.

Produced in the heat of the struggle, in the heart of the Beaux-Arts workshops in Paris, these posters left their mark on walls and minds. Silk-screened by hand and often printed in limited numbers, they gave a graphic voice to students, workers, teachers and anonymous people united in protest.

135 original posters are gathered here: a rare body of work, with incisive slogans and striking visuals, that forcefully expresses the strike, solidarity, anti-capitalism, freedom of speech and the questioning of established powers.

Some have become iconic, others remain confidential - all tell a political and aesthetic story, forged in the momentum of collective mobilization. The minimalism of the line, the effectiveness of the black and white or bold colors, and the power of the formulas - "Beauty is in the street", "Elections, the asshole trap", "CRS = SS" - make them objects that are at once historical, artistic and profoundly contemporary.
