THE COLLECTOR’S EYE – ART & EXCEPTIONAL OBJECTS

Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. – Goldfield Auction

Goldfield Auction is pleased to present The Collector’s Eye – Art & Exceptional Objects, an auction featuring a selection of works of art, antiques, and collectibles, primarily from private Belgian collections.

Designed for discerning collectors and enthusiasts of fine finds alike, this auction offers a dialogue across eras, cultures, and craftsmanship—from antique furniture to Art Nouveau creations, including Asian art, decorative arts, and numismatics.

Among the notable pieces is a large Chinese blue-and-white porcelain dish, known as “Kraak,” from the Wanli period (1573–1619), a testament to the refinement of Chinese craftsmanship during the Ming Dynasty.

Belgian Art Nouveau will be particularly highlighted with an exceptional mantelpiece attributed to Paul Hankar (1859–1901), accompanied by its set of mahogany and precious wood paneling. Its architectural lines, carved plant motifs, and spectacular hammered copper and brass trim exemplify the artistic ingenuity of the late 19th century.

Collectors of unusual objects will also discover a convertible country daybed by Robinson & Sons, a remarkable example of Victorian ingenuity, which was sold at Christie’s in London in 2013.

Tableware will be represented by a major 75-piece set of cut and gilded crystal from Saint-Louis, combining elegant forms with superb craftsmanship.

The auction will also feature a selection of classical antiques, 16th- and 17th-century objects, sculptures, antique glassware, and ceramics, as well as a collection of curiosities.

Finally, a beautiful collection of gold pieces, featured in lots 220 through 241, will round out this selection and appeal to enthusiasts of numismatics and precious metals.

Through this auction, Goldfield Auction aims to celebrate the collector’s eye—the one that recognizes, beyond trends and eras, the beauty of an object, the uniqueness of a work, and the joy of discovery.
